Choosing mulch or stone from a screen is tricky, because color changes with light and moisture. So the best way to compare is to see materials side by side. That is why this gallery groups everything in one place. Also, you are always welcome to stop by the yard during hours and see the piles in person.

• First, mulch: pure hemlock, dark brown pine, black and natural wood chips
• Next, stone: ¾″ and ⅜″ bluestone, 1½″ natural stone and New England field stone
• Then, soil: ½″ screened loam and ¼″ screened compost
• Finally, base: sand and screened asphalt millings
