Programs

First responder wellness training we bring to you

Every program is delivered by responders and clinicians who know the culture. Moreover, most can be scheduled around shift work, including nights and weekends, at your station or ours.

QPR Gatekeeper Training

Question, Persuade, Refer. A 1–2 hour evidence-based course that teaches anyone to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis, how to ask the question, and how to get someone to help. Best of all, it is free for Plymouth County responders and families.

Critical Incident Stress Education

What a critical incident does to the body and brain, common reactions, what helps in the first 48 hours, and when to call. For example, it is ideal for recruit classes, roll calls and in-service days.

Peer Supporter Development

Nationally recognized curricula in group and individual crisis intervention for members who want to join a department peer team or the PCCISM roster.

Leadership & Command Briefings

For chiefs, supervisors and union leadership: building psychological safety into operations, activating CISM, and communicating after high-profile events.

Telecommunicator Resilience

Tailored first responder wellness training for 911 and dispatch staff on vicarious trauma, limited closure and repeated exposure — with strategies that fit the console.

Family & Significant-Other Sessions

What families can expect after a bad call, how to help without pushing, and where to turn when the responder won’t.

Tuesday, September 15, 2026 · 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Hosted by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, 24 Long Pond Road, Plymouth

Presented by Sean Smith, LICSW, MS-DRL of Riverside Trauma Center, this no-cost first responder wellness training provided a comprehensive overview of key statistics and emerging themes related to trauma and suicide for first responders. In addition, the program included a de-escalation component designed to equip individuals with skills to manage heightened situations, particularly in peer interactions, with a central focus on fostering resilience and overall well-being. As a result, attendees earned 4 E911 training credits.
