Home  /  Our Team

The Plymouth County CISM team. Different uniforms. Same purpose.

The Plymouth County CISM team is a volunteer roster of firefighters, police officers, EMTs and paramedics, dispatchers, nurses, chaplains and licensed clinicians. We are organized under the Plymouth County Fire and Rescue Training Association and we have served the county’s responders since 1989.

How we are organized

Inside the Plymouth County CISM team

There is no paid staff. Instead, every role below is filled by a volunteer who also works a shift, raises a family and still picks up the phone at 2 a.m.

Team coordinators

Experienced peers who take the activation call, assess the incident and assemble the right response. A coordinator is reachable 24/7.

Peer supporters

The heart of the Plymouth County CISM team: trained responders from each discipline who lead defusings, debriefings and one-on-ones.

Clinical advisors

Licensed mental health professionals who understand responder culture. They attend formal debriefings and handle referrals.

Chaplains

Fire and police chaplains who support members of any faith, or none, especially after line-of-duty deaths.

Training cadre

Members certified to teach QPR and critical incident stress education for departments and families.

Training Association

The Plymouth County Fire and Rescue Training Association provides the team’s organizational home and administrative support.
